The activity was designed to help parents have important conversations with their kids.

Lego released a new Build & Talk activity for families aimed at helping parents/guardians and kids have important conversations around online privacy and safe online sharing.

Lego’s free Build & Talk activities are online stories that parents/guardians and kids aged 7-11 are encouraged to experience together. As parents/guardians read a story aloud on their computer or smart device, their child is encouraged to build specific objects using the Lego bricks they already own at home.

In the Online Privacy and Safe Sharing activity, families will meet Ida Switchditonandoff, a “Digital Explorer and Online Creaturologist” who needs their help repairing the damaged pages in their book. As parents/guardians narrate the story out loud for their child(ren), they’ll come across prompts that encourage kids to build different things. For instance, Ida needs kids to create build a Lego creature called an “Oversharer” who loves sharing everything online.

At certain points, the activity will show parents/guardians example questions that they can use to talk about privacy and online sharing with their kids.

All of Lego’s Build & Talk activities are available for free on Lego’s website.
