Pokemon Go July 6 Spotlight Hour: Everything You Need to Know
Trainers, the first Pokemon Go Spotlight Hour event for July 2021 will take place on July 6 from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. local time.
During this one-hour event, Bulbasaur will appear more frequently than normal in the wild, and you’ll receive two times the normal number of experience points when catching Pokemon.
Bulbasaur is a Grass- and Poison-type Pokemon from the first generation of the Pokemon universe (in fact, its Pokedex number is 001!). In Pokemon Go, you can evolve Bulbasaur into Ivysaur using 25 Bulbasaur Candy, and then evolve Ivysaur into Venusaur using 100 Bulbasaur Candy.
Shiny Bulbasaur is available in Pokemon Go. Shiny Bulbasaur is a different shade of green (you can view regular and Shiny Bulbasaur in the screenshots below).
To make the most of this week’s event, remember that you can activate an Incense to attract wild Pokemon to your location for a limited time. This will give you more Bulbasaur to encounter and more chances to possibly find a Shiny one.
Also remember that you can activate a Lucky Egg to double the number of experience points you earn for 30 minutes. This Lucky Egg bonus will stack with the Spotlight Hour bonus, allowing you to earn four times the normal number of experience points for each Pokemon you capture.
Following this week’s Spotlight Hour, there are still three more of these events scheduled to take place in July 2021. On July 13, Charmander will be the featured Pokemon, while Squirtle will be the star on July 20. Finally, Natu will be featured in the Spotlight Hour event on July 27.
