Pokemon Go Kanto Raid Day: Everything You Need to Know
Grab some free Remote Raid Passes while you can!
On February 20, Pokemon Go will kick off a series of Kanto-themed festitivies with the Pokemon Go Tour: Kanto event.
Following Pokemon Go Tour: Kanto on February 20, a Kanto-themed Celebration event will run from February 21 until February 27.
Then, on February 28, a Kanto Raid Day event will be held in Pokemon Go.
This Raid Day event will run from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. local time on February 28. During this event, Articuno, Zapdos, and Moltres will appear in Tier-5 Raids, and there will be the chance for all three Pokemon to be Shiny.
To help trainers complete lots of Raids on February 28, players will be able to collect up to five free Raid Passes by visiting PokeStops and Gyms during this event. Just remember: You can only hold a single free Raid Pass at a time. Once you collect a Raid Pass, you’ll need to use it to participate in a Raid before you can collect another.
Players will also be able to collect a bundle of three free Remote Raid Passes in the in-game shop. This bundle will be available from February 27 at 1 p.m. PT until March 1 at 1 p.m. PT.
In addition to these features, an in-game bonus will be active during this Kanto Raid Day event: Players will be able to use a Charged TM to make Shadow Pokemon forget the move Frustration.
Finally, during this event, Team Go Rocket Grunts will appear more frequently at PokeStops and in balloons. Plus, Giovanni, the Team Go Rocket boss, will have a different Legendary Shadow Pokemon on his team for players to collect after defeating him.
