Try the game before you buy it!

Monster Hunter Rise will be released on Switch on March 26, 2021, but fans don’t have to wait until then to try the game for themselves. A free demo of Monster Hunter Rise will be released on the Nintendo eShop on January 7.

In Monster Hunter Rise, you’ll be challenged to protect Kamura Village from an event known as the “Rampage” by exploring dangerous terrain and defeating a wide variety of powerful monsters.

The game’s demo will allow players to complete four different quests that focus on a variety of gameplay features.

Specifically, the Basic Training Quest will teach players how to use the game’s Wirebug, a new tool that will help them explore the game’s rocky terrain (it can also be used in combat). The Wyvern Riding Training Quest will allow players to become familiar with the game’s new Wyvern Riding feature, which allows them to temporarily ride and control monsters. Finally, players will be able to complete one “Beginner” level and one “Intermediate” level monster hunting quest.

You can complete these monster hunting quests on your own, or with friends and family through local (in the same room) or online cooperative multiplayer.

The Monster Hunter Rise demo will be available until February 1, 2021.

In a video presentation Thursday, Capcom, the developer of Monster Hunter Rise, shared lots of new information about the game. You can check out the full presentation embedded near the top of this post.

Monster Hunter Rise is rated T for Teen by the ESRB.
