Pokemon Go Grubhub Special Weekend: Everything You Need to Know
Trainers can sign up for Grubhub+ to participate in an in-game event.
In a unique new promotion, Pokemon Go creator Niantic has partnered with food delivery service Grubhub to host a “Special Weekend” event in Pokemon Go.
This event will only be open to players in the United States. To participate, you’ll need to either sign up for a free 14-day trial of Grubhub+, Grubhub’s premium subscription service, or already be a subscriber.
To get started, you can head to the Special Weekend page on Grubhub’s website from now until October 28 and enter your email address. If you’re new to Grubhub+, Grubhub will send you an email allowing you to sign up for your 14-day trial. If you already have a membership, this is all you need to do to receive your ticket.
Once you’ve completed this process, Grubhub will start emailing ticket codes to eligible trainers on November 4. You’ll need to enter the code on Niantic’s Offer Redemption website to actually activate your ticket in the game. Codes are limited to one per Pokemon Go account.
The actual Special Weekend event will take place on November 8 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. local time.
During this time, ticket holders will be able to complete a series of Timed Research tasks to earn three Incense, a Star Piece, 100 Charizard Mega Energy, and encounters with Chansey, Spoink, Mawile, Bronzor, Gible, and Sewaddle.
In addition, ticket holders can activate Incense during this event to attract specific Pokemon, including Bulbasaur, Charizard, Squirtle, Pikachu, Unown G, Unown H, Sableye, Patrat, Minccino, and Ferroseed. Players will have the chance to encounter Shiny Ferroseed during this time, but Shiny Unown will not be available during this event.
Finally, trainers who participate in this event will receive an exclusive badge for their profile.
