Plus, a few details about Season 5.

Trainers, the fourth season of the Pokemon Go Battle League is almost here!

Season 4 will run from September 15 at 1 p.m. PT until November 9 at 1 p.m. PT.

As usual, Season 4 will be split into different segments, with each featuring a different league. Plus, a special Halloween Cup will be featured during Season 4. Here’s the timeline:

  • Great League - September 14 at 1 p.m. PT to September 28 at 1 p.m. PT
  • Ultra League and its Premier Cup (2,500 CP limit) - September 28 at 1 p.m. PT to October 12 at 1 p.m. PT
  • Master League and its Premier Cup (no CP limit) - October 12 at 1 p.m. PT to October 26 at 1 p.m. PT
  • Halloween Cup - October 26 at 1 p.m. PT to November 3 at 1 p.m. PT
  • All three Leagues and the Premier Cup (no CP limit) - November 3 at 1 p.m. PT to November 9 at 1 p.m. PT.

The Halloween Cup will be unique, since it will only allow Poison-, Ghost-, Bug-, Dark-, and Fairy-type Pokemon to participate. It will have a CP limit of 1,500. As you participate in the Halloween Cup, you’ll be able to earn encounters with Charmander, Squirtle, and Bulbasaur that are wearing costumes.

While many Go Battle League features and rewards are staying the same in Season 4 (for instance, you won’t need to walk to enter Go Battle League), there are a few changes coming in the next season. Most importantly, you’ll be able to reach Rank 2 in Season 4 by completing a certain number of battles, and then reach Ranks 3 through 9 by winning certain numbers of battles. To reach Rank 10, you’ll need to earn a rating of 3,000.

Plus, if you finish Season 4 at Rank 7 or higher, you’ll earn an Elite Fast TM as part of your end-of-season rewards, rather than an Elite Charged TM. To view all of the things that are changing (and everything that’s staying the same) in Season 4, check out Pokemon Go’s website.

Elsewhere, a special event called Go Battle Night will take place on September 24 from 6 p.m. to 11:59 p.m. local time. During this event, you’ll be able to participate in the Flying Cup, which will only allow Flying-type Pokemon to participate. The Flying Cup will have a CP limit of 1,500.

During Go Battle Night, you’ll have the ability to complete up to 20 sets of Go Battle League Battles (up to 100 battles in total). You’ll also receive two times the normal amount of Stardust when you win battles, complete sets of battles, and rank up in the Go Battle League during this event.

Lastly, if you evolve Pidgeotto into Pidgeot during Go Battle Night, it will learn the move Gust.

In addition to revealing these details about Season 4, Niantic, Pokemon Go’s developer, also provided a quick preview of Season 5. It will be a very short season, lasting just three weeks. Plus, you’ll be able to move through every Rank in Season 5 by winning a required number of battles.

To learn more about Season 4 of the Go Battle League, head to Pokemon Go’s website.
