Pokemon Go Raids: Check Out These Changes to Raid Tiers and Rewards
Two Raid Tiers have been removed.
For one, the two-star and four-star Raid Tiers have been removed entirely. Going forward, you’ll only be able to participate in one-star, three-star, and five-star Raids, as well as the new Mega Raids.
According to the Niantic Support Twitter account, Pokemon that were previously featured in two-star and four-star Raids have been moved down one Tier. That means Pokemon from four-star Raids will now appear in three-star Raids, and Pokemon from two-star Raids will now be available to challenge in one-star Raids.
At the same time, the rewards you’ll receive for completing one-star and three-star Raids have been improved. When you complete a one-star Raid, you’ll now receive the rewards you would have previously received for completing a two-star Raid. Likewise, when you complete a three-star Raid, you’ll receive the rewards that were previously available from four-star Raids.
Even though the rewards for these levels have been improved, the difficulty level for one-star and three-star Raids hasn’t been increased.
In addition to these Tier changes, the team-contribution bonus has been removed from all Raids, and has been replaced by a speed bonus. With this change, the faster players complete a Raid, the more rewards they’ll receive.
Specifically, in one-star, three-star, and five-star Raids, the faster players complete a Raid, the more Premier Balls they’ll receive. In Mega Raids, the faster players complete a Raid, the more Mega Energy they’ll receive.
