Pokemon Go Is Holding Another Go Fest Makeup Event for Certain Regions
The game experienced technical issues during the original Go Fest makeup event.
During Pokemon Go Fest 2020, Pokemon Go experienced major technical issues that prevented players from enjoying the entire experience as originally intended.
To make up for this, a Pokemon Go Fest makeup event was held on August 16. Unfortunately, players in certain regions also experienced technical issues during the makeup event, so Niantic, the game’s developer, has announced another makeup event is coming soon. However, it will only be active for players in certain areas (rather than being a worldwide event).
The second Pokemon Go Fest makeup event will be held on August 23 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. local time. The event will only be active for players in Australia, New Zealand, and other portions of the Asia Pacific region who had a ticket to Pokemon Go Fest. To be clear, Niantic said this event will only be active for players in time zones from UTC+7 to UTC+14.
This makeup event will be split into three themed hours, which will allow players to capture Pokemon that were originally available in those same themed hours during Pokemon Go Fest. Here’s the breakdown:
- 11 a.m. to 12 p.m.: Fire
- 12 p.m. to 1 p.m.: Water
- 1 p.m. to 2 p.m.: Friendship
In a news post, Niantic said “Incense will be more effective at attracting the featured Pokémon, and certain featured Pokémon will appear only when attracted by Incense.”
Finally, any other bonus features that were active during the first makeup event (such as the free box in the in-game store), will not be active during this second makeup event.
