Xbox Game Pass Ultimate Subscribers Will Soon Be Able to Play Games on Their Phones
This functionality will be available at no additional cost.
Xbox Game Pass is Xbox’s premium game subscription service, which gives subscribers unlimited access to over 100 different games (rated E-M) for a flat monthly fee.
Users can choose from multiple subscription plans, based on their needs. A regular Xbox Game Pass subscription costs $9.99 per month, while the Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscription costs $14.99 per month.
For the extra five dollars, Ultimate subscribers receive access to “Xbox Live Gold,” which is required to play games online with other people (this typically costs $9.99 per month on its own).
Later this year, a new benefit will be added for Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscribers: the ability to play games on smartphones and/or tablets through cloud gaming.
This feature will allow you to carry your progress with you across platforms, so if you start a game on Xbox One (for instance), you can continue where you left off when playing on your tablet, and vice versa. It will also allow you to play multiplayer games through Xbox Live across these different devices.
Cloud gaming for Xbox Game Pass Ultimate will launch in September 2020. An exact release date hasn’t been revealed as of this writing.
