Pokemon Sword and Shield: How to Get the Mark Charm

Increase your chance of finding Pokemon with marks!

The Isle of Armor expansion for Pokemon Sword and Pokemon Shield allows players to capture dozens of pocket monsters that aren’t available in the main version of the games. You can keep track of the Pokemon you’ve collected in the expansion’s “Isle of Armor” Pokedex, which is separate from the games’ main Pokedex.

Once you complete the Isle of Armor Pokedex, you can collect a special item called a “Mark Charm,” which will make it more likely for you to catch wild Pokemon that have a special “mark.”

Here’s how to get this item!

You’ll need to collect 210 pocket monsters to complete the Isle of Armor Pokedex. Some of these Pokemon are also found in the game’s main Pokedex, so if you’ve already completed it, you’ll have a great head start to completing this second collection.

You’ll know you’ve finished the Isle of Armor Pokedex if it reads “210” for both Seen and Caught, and you see a crown icon on the Pokedex itself (you can see what the crown looks like in our screenshot below).

With that requirement out of the way, head inside the Armor Station on the Isle of Armor (it’s located in the Fields of Honor).

Talk to the woman in the white lab coat and show her your Isle of Armor Pokedex.

If your Isle of Armor Pokedex is complete, you’ll receive a certificate marking your achievement, an update to your League Card, an “Original Style Replica Gold Crown,” and the Mark Charm.

After you’ve collected the Mark Charm, when you catch a wild Pokemon, it will have a greater chance of having a “mark.” You can check to see whether or not a Pokemon has a mark by viewing its “Summary” screen.

If you want to learn more about this marks system, check out Bulbapedia’s entry on the topic.
