Asmodee has free printable versions of five family-friendly games.

In response to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, game company Asmodee launched a “Print & Play” initiative that allows families to download some of its games (or demos of some games) and then print and cut out the components to use at home.

There are currently five games/demos available to download from Asmodee’s website.

Here’s what’s available:

Dixit - For players 8 and up, this game asks one player to be the storyteller, who chooses a card and gives the other players a clue related to the imagery on that card. The other players then choose one of their own cards that they feel matches the clue. The chosen cards (including the storyteller’s card) are shuffled face down and then revealed. Players need to guess which card was originally the storyteller’s based on the clue for that round.

Dobble / Spot it! - This matching game challenges players to race to find matching symbols across a series of cards so they can claim them. The game is rated 6+.

Color Combo - Players take turns coloring in spaces on the game board using different colored pens. There are rules that dictate which spaces can be colored in, so players are challenged to pick the right spaces to earn the most points. While the original Color Combo uses erasable boards and markers, this printable version lets you print as many copies as you want, so you can use pens, markers, crayons, and more to play. Color Combo has an age rating of 8+.

Unlock! - This cooperative game supports 2-6 players aged 10+. It’s inspired by real-world escape rooms, and according to the Asmodee Print & Play website, it challenges players to work together “to search scenes, combine objects, and solve riddles.” Unlock uses a companion mobile app that can be downloaded for free on iOS and Android devices.

Timeline Classic - Timeline challenges players 8 and older to place cards into a timeline that they create from scratch based on when they think certain real-world events took place. At the beginning, the game is fairly simple. For instance, when only one card is on the timeline, the next player only has to decide whether an event took place before or after it. As the timeline fills in, it becomes more difficult to figure out where events should be placed.

Asmodee has plans to release additional “Print & Play” content in the future. For instance, the website has a listing for Cortex / Braintopia, but that game doesn’t have any files available to download and print as of this writing.
