Animal Crossing New Horizons: How to Invite Villagers to Your Campsite Using amiibo
You can scan Animal Crossing amiibo figures and cards.
Once you’ve had your first animal friend visit your campsite in Animal Crossing: New Horizons, Tom Nook will add a new feature to the Nook Stop terminal that allows you to use Animal Crossing amiibo figures and cards to invite animals to visit the campsite directly.
Our step-by-step guide is here to show you how this process works!
Head into the Resident Services building and interact with the Nook Stop terminal.
Tom Nook will interrupt you to inform you about the new amiibo functionality.
Once the conversation is over, select “Invite amiibo Camper.”
Select “Yes, I do!” to confirm you want to use an amiibo figure or card to invite someone to your campsite.
Hold the amiibo figure or card to the NFC touchpoint on your Switch, Switch Lite, or Pro Controller.
The game will recognize the amiibo figure or card and ask you if you want to invite that animal to your campsite. Select “Yes!”
The game will then call that animal and ask them to come over for a visit.
The animal will immediately arrive at your campsite for you to talk to. You can talk to them in their tent, and they may ask you to craft an item for them that they can take home as a souvenir.
If you talk to them enough times, you may be able to invite them to move to your island as a new resident.
In our experience, the animal declined the first and second time they visited our island, but they agreed to move in after we invited them the third time!
