The cross-promotion will add three different item collections to the game.
Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp is one of the cutest mobile games around. It lets players create a campsite in the woods and make friends with all sorts of talking animals, as well as dress their in-game avatar in a bunch of cool clothing and accessory items. Now, the game is getting even cuter thanks to a limited time promotion with Sanrio, the company behind characters like Hello Kitty and My Melody.
A limited time Sanrio event kicked off in Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp on July 11. From July 11 to July 22, players will be able to participate in a Hello Kitty Gyroidite Scavenger Hunt by visiting the game’s different locations and collecting cute gyroidites that are wearing Hello Kitty’s signature red bow.
As players collect these gyroidites in bulk, they can use them to craft items including a Hello Kitty Tent and Sanrio character t-shirts for their avatar and animal friends to wear. They’ll also be able to complete quests to receive free items, including Leaf Tickets, the game’s premium currency.
A few premium t-shirts are also available to craft in this Gyroidite Scavenger Hunt collection. Plus, a premium Hello Kitty Balloon amenity can be crafted for 300 Leaf Tickets. Unlike a normal item, which can be placed anywhere on the campsite, this is a larger amenity, which will need to be placed on one of the two amenity spots on the player’s campsite.
In addition to these Scavenger hunt items, players can craft premium items in a separate Hello Kitty and Cinnamoroll item collection, such as a Hello Kitty backpack (200 Leaf Tickets) and the Cinnamoroll wall (150 Leaf Tickets). These items will be available for the next 52 days.
Even more Hello Kitty and Cinnamoroll items can be found in the Hello Kitty and Cinnamoroll fortune cookies, which are now available to purchase for 50 Leaf Tickets each. Like the crafting collection, these cookies will be around for 52 days.
Two more item collections will be added to the game in the coming weeks. A collection featuring Pompompurin and My Melody items will be released later in July, while a collection including Little Twin Stars and Keroppi items will launch in early August.
Finally, as players complete in-game activities during this overall Sanrio crossover event, they’ll be able to complete a variety of “Sanrio Characters Goals,” which will reward them with prizes including Bells, Leaf Tickets, Fortune Cookies, and even maps for meeting new characters as part of Blathers’ Treasure Trek. These goals will be available to complete for the next 52 days.
Overall, there are lots of ways to spend real money in this event, but the game is pretty generous when it comes to giving away premium currency. If you’re dedicated to playing on a regular basis, and you’re willing to save up currency for a bit, you may be able to afford some of the items you want for free.
