Over the last few weeks, Pokemon Go’s Throwback Challenge event has celebrated the Kanto, Johto, and Hoenn regions of the Pokemon universe. Now, the Sinnoh region is having its turn in the spotlight.
From now until May 29 at 1 p.m. local time, a variety of in-game bonuses and updates that focus on the Sinnoh region will be active in Pokemon Go. For instance, Pokemon originally from the Sinnoh region will appear more frequently in the wild and in Raids. For a complete look at everything that’s happening, check out our previous coverage.
During this event, trainers can also complete a series of Timed Research tasks to receive lots of in-game rewards, including 10 Rare Candies and an encounter with a Cresselia that knows the battle move Grass Knot.
There are nine sets of three tasks to complete in this Timed Research series. Keep in mind, if you don’t finish them before May 29 at 1 p.m. local time, they’ll disappear from your game, and you won’t be able to earn any of their associated rewards.

Throwback Challenge: Sinnoh Part 1
Rewards: 10 Poke Balls for completing the first task, an encounter with Burmy for completing the second task, and 500 Stardust for completing the third task; 1 Pinap Berry, 2 Razz Berries, and an encounter with Cranidos when all three tasks are completed
Throwback Challenge: Sinnoh Part 2
Rewards: 5 Razz Berries for completing the first task, an encounter with Combee for completing the second task, and 500 Stardust for completing the third task; 1 Razz Berry, 2 Pinap Berries, and an encounter with Grotle when all three tasks are completed
Throwback Challenge: Sinnoh Part 3
Rewards: 1 Magnetic Lure Module for completing the first task, an encounter with Bronzor for completing the second task, and 500 Stardust for completing the third task; 1 Pinap Berry, 2 Razz Berries, and an encounter with Monferno when all three tasks are completed
Throwback Challenge: Sinnoh Part 4
*There are very few Ground-type Pokemon that are native to the Sinnoh region, so you may have trouble finding one to complete this task. That being said, we finished this task by activating a Magnetic Lure Module on a PokeStop and waiting for a Ground-Type Pokemon from another region to appear. In our particular case, we captured Alolan Diglett. You can also watch out for Raids with Ground-type Pokemon, such as Hippowdon.
Rewards: 10 Great Balls for completing the first task, an encounter with Skorupi for completing the second task, and 500 Stardust for completing the third task; 1 Razz Berry, 2 Pinap Berries, and an encounter with Prinplup when all three tasks are completed
Throwback Challenge: Sinnoh Part 5
*You may find it challenging to find a Ghost-type Pokemon during this event. Here’s a tip: Watch out for Drifloon, which are appearing in Raids.
Rewards: A Charged TM for completing the first task, a Sinnoh Stone for completing the second task, and 500 Stardust for completing the third task. According to Eurogamer, you’ll receive an encounter with Drifloon when all three tasks are completed, along with 1 Pinap Berry and 2 Razz Berries.

Rewards: 10 Ultra Balls for completing the first task, an encounter with Hippopotas for completing the second task, and 500 Stardust for completing the third task; 1 Razz Berry, 2 Pinap Berries, and an encounter with Shieldon when all three tasks are completed
Throwback Challenge: Sinnoh Part 7
Rewards: An encounter with Gible for completing the first task, a Glacial Lure Module for completing the second task, and 500 Stardust for completing the third task; 1 Pinap Berry, 2 Razz Berries, and an encounter with Abomasnow when all three tasks are completed
Throwback Challenge: Sinnoh Part 8
Rewards: A Star Piece for completing the first task, a Fast TM for completing the second task, and 500 Stardust for completing the third task; 1 Razz Berry, 2 Pinap Berries, and an encounter with Shinx when all three tasks are completed
Throwback Challenge: Sinnoh Part 9
Rewards: 3,000 experience points for turning in each task (9,000 experience points in total); 10 Rare Candies and an encounter with a Cresselia that knows the move Grass Knot when all three tasks are turned in
