This special event will be available for players in Latin America.
Update (10/23/20): Niantic gave SuperParent a list of the countries and territories where this event will take place. Please find it at the bottom of this post.
Original Story:
Pokemon Go is preparing to honor the Day of the Dead holiday with an exclusive in-game event for trainers in Latin America (Day of the Dead is November 2, 2020).
This Day of the Dead event will run from November 1 at 10 a.m. local time until November 2 at 11:59 p.m. local time.
In a news post, Niantic, the developer of Pokemon Go, said “Pokémon representing the different elements of the Day of the Dead will appear” more frequently than normal in the wild during this event. This includes Cubone, Sunflora, Roselia, Cacnea, Duskull, and Litwick.
In addition, when trainers use Incense during this event, Gastly, Misdreavus, Absol, Shuppet, Duskull, Drifloon, and Litwick “will be attracted more frequently” to it. Niantic also encouraged players to take some augmented reality (AR) snapshots during this event “for a surprise.”
Elsewhere, players will be able to complete event-themed Field Research tasks in order to earn encounters with Marowak, Alolan Marowak, Murkrow, and Duskull. Plus, if they participate in the Go Battle League, they’ll have the chance to earn Poffins as rewards.
Finally, a special premium item box will be available to purchase in the in-game store, which contains Incense, Puffins, Star Pieces, and Remote Raid Passes.
