Start the year off right by stocking up on Stardust!
Trainers, the first Pokemon Go Spotlight Hour event in 2021 will take place on January 5!
From 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. local time on January 5, Lillipup will appear more frequently than normal in the wild, and you’ll receive two times the normal amount of Stardust when catching Pokemon. This Stardust bonus will apply to every Pokemon you catch during this event, and not just Lillipup.
Lillipup is a Normal-type Pokemon from Generation 5 of the Pokemon universe. It has two evolutions. In Pokemon Go, you can evolve Lillipup into Herdier using 25 Lillipup Candy, and then evolve Herdier into Stoutland using 100 Lillipup Candy.
To make the most of this event, remember to activate a Star Piece in order to earn 50 percent more Stardust for 30 minutes. The Star Piece will stack with the Spotlight Hour Stardust bonus, allowing you to earn lots of this valuable currency in a short amount of time!
You can also activate an Incense on your account to attract wild Pokemon to your location for a limited time, which will give you even more chances to earn extra Stardust (since you earn Stardust each time you capture a Pokemon).
Finally, keep in mind that Shiny Lillipup is available in Pokemon Go. You’ll be able to check lots of Lillipup during this Spotlight Hour event, so you may have a better chance of finding this rare Shiny version!
Following this week’s Spotlight Hour, there are three more of these events to look forward to in January. On January 12, Drifloon will be the featured Pokemon, while Shroomish will be the star on January 19. Finally, Phanpy will be featured in the Spotlight Hour event on January 26.
