This will be a great time to evolve some Pokemon!
The next Pokemon Go Spotlight Hour event will take place on June 22, 2021 from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. local time.
During this event, Swinub will appear more frequently than normal in the wild, and you’ll receive two times the normal number of experience points when evolving Pokemon.
Swinub is an Ice- and Ground-type Pokemon from the second generation of the Pokemon universe. In Pokemon Go, you can evolve Swinub into Piloswine using 25 Swinub Candy, and then evolve Piloswine into Mamoswine using 100 Swinub Candy and a Sinnoh Stone.
Shiny Swinub is available in Pokemon Go. Shiny Swinub is a pale green color, rather than brown. You can check it out in the screenshot below.
To make the most of this week’s event, remember that you can activate an Incense to attract wild Pokemon to your location for a limited time. This will give you more Swinub to encounter and more chances to potentially find a Shiny one.
Plus, if you plan on evolving lots of Pokemon to take advantage of this event’s experience point bonus, you may want to consider activating a Lucky Egg, which will double the number of experience points you earn for completing all in-game actions for 30 minutes.
Following this week’s Spotlight Hour event, there’s still one more of these events scheduled to take place in June 2021. The Spotlight Hour event on June 29 will feature Aipom.
