Everything you need to know.
Trainers, the Welcome to Alola event has kicked off in Pokemon Go!
The Welcome to Alola event will run from March 1 at 10 a.m. local time until March 9 at 8 p.m. local time. You can learn more about this event in our previous coverage.
As part of the Welcome to Alola event, players can complete the Welcome to Alola Collection Challenge, which asks them to collect Pokemon that were first seen in the Alola region of the Pokemon universe.
The Welcome to Alola Collection Challenge will ask players to collect six Pokemon:
Rowlet, Litten, Popplio, Pikipek, and Yungoos will have the chance to appear in the wild during this event, but Gumshoos will need to be collected through evolution. Specifically, players will need to evolve Yungoos into Gumshoos using 50 Yungoos Candy in order to finish this Collection Challenge. Keep in mind, Yungoos can only be evolved into Gumshoos during the day. Check out our guide to learn more about evolving Yungoos into Gumshoos.
If players can complete this Collection Challenge before the Welcome to Alola event ends, they’ll receive 7,000 experience points and 15 Ultra Balls. They’ll also receive a point for their Elite Collector medal.
