Players can collect extra experience points for a limited time.
The next Pokemon Go Spotlight Hour event will take place on May 2, 2023 from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m local time.
During this event, Alolan Geodude will appear more frequently than normal in the wild and players will receive two times the normal number of experience points when catching Pokemon.
Alolan Geodude is a regional form of Geodude that’s from the Alola region of the Pokemon universe. In Pokemon Go, you can evolve Alolan Geodude into Alolan Graveler using 25 Geodude Candy and then evolve Alolan Graveler into Alolan Grimer using 100 Geodude Candy. Players can also evolve Alolan Graveler into Alolan Golem without using Pokemon Candy if the Pokemon has previously been traded.
Shiny Alolan Geodude is available in Pokemon Go. Shiny Alolan Geodude is orange, rather than gray.
To make the most of this week’s event, remember that you can activate an Incense to attract wild Pokemon to your location for a limited time. This will give you more Alolan Geodude to encounter and more chances to potentially find a Shiny one.
You can also activate a Lucky Egg to double the number of experience points you receive when completing in-game actions for a limited time. The Lucky Egg bonus will stack with the Spotlight Hour bonus, allowing you to earn lots of experience points for each Pokemon you capture during this event.
Following this week’s Spotlight Hour event, four more of these events are scheduled to take place in the month of May 2023. Here’s the schedule:
